The Martian Chronicles
In The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, the colonization on Mars is similar to the Europeans colonizing America. The Americans went to Mars in search of something new. As did the Europeans to America. The explorations to Mars brought disease and violence. They were only exploring and didn’t mean to harm anyone. This same thing happened with the Europeans. As they came to explore, the Americans were in for more than they could handle. Either they were intentionally hurting each other by killing or unintentionally by spreading disease. As this was happening, people started to realize that if they left on this expedition they could start in a whole new world almost. They would be freed from all the rules and restrictions that Earth had on them. To conclude, this whole adventure was to seek profit and new beginning. Just like the Europeans experienced.
