AQ from Natalie Jacobsmeier

All Quiet On the Western Front
In All Quiet On The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, each chapters story line jumps while still focusing on Paul Baumer, the main character. The story jumps from struggles and survival to gatherings of the men and supplies. In this story, I think the way it jumps around makes sense because it is part of many peoples’ lives at this time. We have men fighting in war for us and we have no idea what it’s like. It shows how rough the frontline was for the men. How they took everything day by day and didn’t know what could happen. The imagery in this novel really depicts the effect of war has on these soldiers and shows the difficulty of putting your life on the line.
