In Ray Bradbury's, The Martian Chronicles he depicts the colonization of Mars in many different point of views. Colonization of Mars was very similar to the colonization of America. Expeditions were sent to Mars to search the land and make contact with the Martians. However it took four expeditions for one to finally succeed. Then after they Americans came in contact with the Martians, similar to when Europeans came into contact with the Native Americans, the Martians were forced off of their land and also caught disease that almost killed the entire Martian civilization. After Americans were able to colonize Mars then more and more rockets came and more people came up because they thought that Mars would be better and they would get away from all of the things they disliked about earth. They called Mars their home, but soon realized it wasn't. When a massive war broke out on Earth almost everybody living on Mars went back to Earth to help with the war and with the few that were able to return to Mars realized that they couldn't bring back elements from Earth for they wouldn't fit and would only lead to destruction, so they decided to start with what was already there.
