The Martian Chronicles

The Martian Chronicles, written by Ray Bradbury's tells the story of the human colonization of mars. Through out the book there are mirrored images of what we did to the natives of the Americas but now to the natives of mars. We came to a strange land and found that the native population of mars had been decimated. The martians had scum to the childhood disease of chicken pox. But after getting are feet firmly grounded in mars the land was shaped by the people to resemble an almost earth duplicate. The book is very very heavy with imagery and each description is beautiful. The land scape of sand and black earth are frequently described over and over. My favorite described place was The House of Usher. The house was black, dreary, horrifying, and machines blotted out the sun. It kept the ideas and images from Edger Allen Poe and other authors alive. Each story and other banished creatures lived on in the house being robots that all looked very real.
