In the novel The Martian Chronicles, by Ray Bradbury, humans try to colonize mars. They begun by experimenting by sending rockets to mars, similar with the Pacific to America The way they colonize it is simmilar to the way Europeans tryed to colonize in America. The journeys have many obsticals within exploring new land, The natives on mars has many experiances such as getting chicken pox from new explorers. This is like when Americans recieved deiseases from Europeans. Culture and tradition was a key theme in this novel. New explorers brought there own culture and views. When new explorers first came to all the new destinations the natives were fighting back, but soon enough they werent able to fight back and had to go with the life that the explorers put out for them. After the colonization, both populations were effected by the way there lifestyle was changed greatly and who impacted it, and there population decreased. In the "The Naming of Names" Chapter, its alot like how symbolizom and name changing went on with the Native Americans by the Europeans when the Earthians names are changed. A last similarity in this novel is the wants. The Europeans wanted to leave to have there own relious beliefs just like how the African Americans wanted to leave America to be equal. This book has its own way of connecting with the reader in the way of events and what we know and have learned about.
