The Martian Chronicles

The martian Chronicles, by Ray Bradbury describes american colonization on Mars. Their colonization resembles that of the Europeans in the Americas. The Americans came and immediately started building towns, not caring about the martians that had already lived there. They caused the martians to move and live back, away from the new towns. This is just like the Europeans colonizing and taking land from the native Americans, causing them to be pushed further, and further away. Another similarity would be the reason why both colonizations happened. They both sought freedom, and to escape the religious and political problems of their homelands, hoping to be able to start over new.
